The seeds of Parman Tech's technology were sown in 2016, when John Curry (Parman Tech Founder and CEO) and Zachary Levine, scientists at the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) first published Continuous-feed optical sorting of aerosol particles. The distinguishing characteristic of this technology was that it could process large volumes in a continuous fashion.  US Patent Number: 10,073,026 was issued to NIST for this technology on September 11, 2018.

Parman Tech recent history:

• June 30, 2026: Parman Tech awarded NSF Phase I SBIR grant for An instrument for Analysis and Purification of Nanoparticle Drug Delivery Using an Novel Optical Resonator
• June 30, 2026: Parman Tech made "awardable" in the DARPA ERIS (Expedited Research Innovation System) Marketplace for Nanoparticle separation and purification using Parman Tech NanoSelect optical Technology. This Awardable status certifies that our solution has passed a competitive technical review, making it eligible for rapid, post-competitive acquisition by interested government parties.
• August I, 2025: Parman Tech awarded NIST Phase I SBIR grant: Development of Advanced Microfluidic Module with Integrated Manifold and Tapered Capillary for Separation of Particles by Optical Forces: Phase 1
• Januar 1, 2024: Parman Tech incorporated (C Corp)
• October 2023: Parman Tech establishes home office in Loveland, CA
• December 24, 2019: Parman Tech receives grant from TEDCO/NIST for NIST Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Program (N-STEP) to begin developing NIST-licensed technology for commercial market applications
• Parman Tech LLC completes NSF I-Corps™️ program
• December 2018: Parman Tech LLC founded
